Recently, our Indigenous students were visited by local Sunshine Coast artists, Justin and Matt who shared their knowledge and culture at a Didgeridoo Workshop.
This project is part of an initiative with ACARA who have designed the Australian Curriculum to incorporate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Histories and Cultures as a cross-curriculum priority across all learning areas.
This initiative builds cultural identity, self-esteem and higher participation and engagement in learning for students of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island descent. We can’t wait to see and hear the finished Yidaki!
