In case you’re still not sure what Arts on Twilight is all about, here are a few commonly asked questions:
What is Arts on Twilight now?
It is a 3 hour showcase of visual arts and music talent by the students of Suncoast. It’s a night for the whole family and is designed to be enjoyed in as little as an hour or for longer. The Arts are enjoyed in a classy and relaxed atmosphere, accompanied by great good and the event is contained to the Davies Common, the Library and Djan Durman.
Why has it gone back to its roots?
The Festival has become a very big event and after much consultation, it was decided to make it a biennial event so that it would be more sustainable over time because of the enormous energies required to make it happen. This created the opportunity to recreate the smaller and more manageable Arts on Twilight, the main purpose of which is to put the spotlight on the visual arts.
Why is it on a Tuesday?
Scheduling any event is always a challenge. A week night was chosen rather than a Friday or weekend as people already have so much on. The event is designed for a short visit – anywhere from an hour to the full three hours. It is not meant to be a long night. Think of it as a brief but very pleasant interlude in the week.
What can we expect to see and do?
Each Primary student will have a piece of art work on display, as will Secondary students of Art. There will be some amazing installations by senior Art students, including lantern and light installations. There will be a theatre showing short films by Secondary Media students and the Framed Photo Competition will also be on show. Music and vocal performances will feature on the main stage in the Davies Common and buskers will be performing at various locations throughout the night.
Will there be food and drinks?
Great food is on offer at Arts on Twilight. There will be street food at Good Food Fellas Food Truck; buy a burger and support our Missions team, P&F Winter Wonderland will provide Pirozhkis, coffee and bake stall with sweet treats.
Is there a program of what’s on?
There is no published program – students will be able to tell their families the time range of their performances, but other than that, we just want you to come along and enjoy what’s on offer while you are here. We look forward to welcoming you to the re-imagined Arts on Twilight.
Will there be EFTPOS?
Yes EFTPOS will be available in Main Admin Office.
