High Flying Mural

Archives

Year 11 Visual Arts in Practice students are completing a mural – adding a huge splash of colour and inspiration bare walls within the Secondary school.

Within the Year 11 Visual Arts in Practice program, the Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority (QCAA) has specified that students are to be completing community-based projects. So we engaged local Sunshine Coast mural artist David Hardy to assist our students with this collaborative community work.

David was asked to design a mural based on one of the words from the College motto – ‘Faith DIligence Love.‘  David chose the word diligence, and created a work featuring a Brahminy Kite eagle flying over the Glasshouse Mountains who is keeping a keen eye on its goal.

Parents and students are welcome to view the mural as it emerges on the brick walls adjacent to B Block in the Secondary precinct.
