MLTAQ Speech Competition

Date: August 29, 2017

Last Sunday, four of our Year 5 students represented Suncoast at the Modern Language Teachers Association Queensland’s (MLTAQ) 10th Annual Speech Contest held at the University of the Sunshine Coast.

Over 300 students from all over the Sunshine Coast and north Brisbane competed in 7 different languages. There was a total of 99 students taking part in the Italian section of the contest alone.

Sofia Dalgliesh, Elliana Groeneweg, Nicola Penny and Livvi Webster have spent many of their lunch breaks preparing for this event as well as giving up some of their weekend to take part in the competition. Their hard work and effort paid off as all four girls were complemented by the judges on their beautiful pronunciation and use of Italian.

In the Year 5 section of the competition, Livvi was placed 3rd and Elliana was highly commended which was a fantastic effort.

Complimenti ragazze!
