QLD All Schools Touch Competition

Archives

On the weekend, 27 Senior students competed at the Queensland All Schools Touch competition.

The Queensland All Schools Touch tournament was held over 5 days attracting over 450 teams and attracts over 6000 students in one of the biggest school sporting events in Australia.

Suncoast entered two Open teams and competed in two tough divisions. Included in those divisions were the Open Boys champions, Ignatius Park, from Townsville and Chanel College from Gladstone who were semi-finalists in the Open Girls division. The teams played through the wet weather on Friday and Saturday but experienced perfect sunshine on the Sunday for their final game. Our boys finished 4th (3 wins / 4 losses) and the girls 5th (2 wins, 4 losses) in their respective divisions.

A huge thank you to TJ Phillips and Maddy Morrall for coaching the Open Boys and for Tayla Heaton for being a wonderful Coach’s assistant to Trent Raddatz. 2019 has been a great year for Touch Football and we hope to compete at the World All Schools Touch in 2020 in Brisbane. Well done to the Suncoast Touch Football teams.
