Educators from several Sunshine Coast schools gathered at the inaugural Sunshine Coast STEM Showcase – sharing their experiences in progressing STEM teaching and learning.

Suncoast Christian College has partnered with Modern Teaching Aids (MTA) to host the inaugural Sunshine Coast STEM Showcase. At the workshop, we were joined by educators from St Andrew’s Anglican College, Matthew Flinders Anglican College, Caloundra Christian College and several representatives from Queensland Education.

The attending Educators got “hands-on” with the latest tools to support STEM teaching and learning and were able to share their experiences in the STEM space.

Mr Adam King, Suncoast’s P-12 Instructional Designer, Digital Technologies, showcased examples of our P-10 STEM activities. He commented… “It was great to share our dynamic, deep and rich curriculum offerings. We opened our books – sharing our STEM journey with our neighbouring schools.”

Suncoast staff were able to learn from other attendees to form new friendships. Together a collective understanding of the value is STEM in education was achieved.

Suncoast Christian Collge Principal, Mr Greg Mattiske comments: “Our goal with the Sunshine Coast STEM Showcase is to encourage greater collaboration and networking between STEM educators at competing schools. The future depends on a networked approach, and schools across our region can benefit from greater collaboration and community.”
