Recently, the Year 11 Psychology classes were privileged to hear an insightful presentation by Dr Ineka Whiteman BSc Hons (Neuro), PhD (Medicine) who has spent many years studying the brain.
Her perspective on the link between science and faith challenged many students. They came away with a better understanding of the power of the brain and their ability to change their brain structure by controlling their thoughts. Our students also learnt some practical strategies on how to look after their brain and improve their minds by taking care of their bodies. We greatly appreciate Dr Whiteman taking the time to share her expertise and passion with us.
We are looking forward to further learning opportunities in Unit 1 in Psychology this year, where students will examine individual development in the form of the role of the brain, human consciousness, sleep and cognitive development.
