Year 12 Humanitarian Project – SC Marathon
Date: July 17, 2018
We are encouraging the whole Suncoast community to get behind our team entry in the Sunshine Coast Marathon this year on Sunday 19 August, which is an initiative of our Year 12 students. We are aiming to have over 70 runners, joggers and walkers register including students, parents, staff, alumni, family members, and friends…basically anyone connected to Suncoast.
Our team participation will raise much needed funds for Motor Neurone Disease Queensland and is a wonderful opportunity to build community and promote health, fitness and well-being. There are a variety of distances to choose from – 2km, 5km or 10km fun runs or the 21.1km half marathon or 42.2km full marathon. Anyone can have a go – Angie Spears pushed my wife Rowena around the 2km course in her wheelchair a couple of years ago which was awesome, while I had jogged the 10km; this year I’ve signed up for the half-marathon to support the cause. We encourage you to get on board and give it a go with friends or on your own – click here to sign up to join the SUNCOAST CHRISTIAN COLLEGE team and receive the discounted entry fee.
Then click here to join the Facebook group for team information and updates.
If you can’t participate but would like to support the cause, you can donate by clicking here.
