Local Community

Suncoast Christian College is committed to teaching our students the value of having a servant heart, particularly to those people in our community whose lives have been altered through tragic personal circumstances and hardships.

Locally our students are currently volunteering at Suncoast Care based in Nambour. Suncoast Care is a thriving co-op food outlet that provides affordable groceries to many families in our community. Suncoast Care, a ministry of Suncoast Church, also provides emergency relief for families, funds the Chaplaincy programs at both Woombye and Palmwoods State Schools, provides weekly breakfasts in Quota Park for the homeless and offers a three course meal two nights a week for families in need. Students are involved in a range of activities including packing shelves, welcoming customers and customer service. We believe this is a great opportunity for our students to serve the local community, gain some work experience and have exposure to some of the challenges that life brings.
