Students Challenged at Robotics Tournament

Late last term, 5 Suncoast teams consisting of Years 5 and 6 students, competed at the Sunshine Coast Robotics Tournament.
Samson List, Jacob Wiener, Carter MacDougal, Thomas Robinson, Joshua Lester, Harry Odgers and Jayden Seagrove formed three teams and competed in the Sumo section, where pre-programmed EV3 robots battled against each other in a round robin contest to knock their opponent off a circular platform.
Jasmine Bosveld, Trixie Smith, Sofia Dalgliesh, Gabriella Theisen, Miranda Bell and Petro Janse van Rensburg competed in the ‘On Stage’ section of the contest where they choreographed and coded a robot to dance with them to a chosen song.
All students competed successfully experiencing wins, losses, challenges and successes and are to be congratulated for their hard work, sportsmanship, gracious professionalism, perseverance, teamwork and high level achievement in engineering and robotics.
