Year 12 Humanitarian Project Fundraiser
Date: May 28, 2018
Ever wanted to challenge yourself and run for something bigger than yourself? Our Year 12 students have nominated the 2018 Sunshine Coast Marathon Event as a way in which you can be a part of something bigger and help raise money for Motor Neurone Disease Queensland (MND) which is their chosen charity & humanitarian project for 2018.
On 19 August at Alexandra Headland, the Sunshine Coast Marathon event takes place where you can nominate to run, jog or walk 2km, 5km, 10km, 21.1km (Half Marathon) or 42.2km (Marathon). We are aiming to have as many Suncoast Christian College students, parents, staff, alumni and friends to run as a part of the Suncoast Christian College Team in whatever distance you are comfortable with.
As an organised event, there is a nomination fee upon entering, but we are asking that we all aim to raise the same value as our nomination fee. For example, it costs $50 for the 10km event, so ideally you raise $50 and donate this amount to MND by clicking here.
Free training plans are available on the Sunshine Coast Marathon website and organised training runs will take place at Suncoast and from Alexandra Headland.
A Facebook group has been created if you are interested in coming along or to get tips along the way. Click here to join the closed Facebook group.
